Do’s in Vietnam

  • Carry Vietnamese Dong for street food, markets and small vendors.
  • Bargain politely at markets. Start around half the asking price.
  • Remove your shoes when entering homes and many temples.
  • Use Grab for fair, metered rides.
  • Try the street food: pho, banh mi and Vietnamese coffee are a must.

Don’ts in Vietnam

  • Don't drink tap water.
  • Don't photograph military sites or officials.
  • Don't accept the first taxi price. Insist on the meter or use Grab.
  • Don't be loud or wear revealing clothing inside pagodas.
