- Carry Vietnamese Dong for street food, markets and small vendors.
- Bargain politely at markets. Start around half the asking price.
- Remove your shoes when entering homes and many temples.

- Try the street food: pho, banh mi and Vietnamese coffee are a must.

- Don't photograph military sites or officials.
